Industry and business
Energy is mainly used in industry and business for supplying process heat, powering drive and conveying equipment, and for room heating and lighting.
Of these, the most significant by far is the supply of heat for technical processes. Process heat is generated from a variety of energy sources and transported to where it is needed in media such as hot water, steam or hot air. Electricity is used mainly for powering electric motors, lighting, and galvanic processes. Apart from process heat, heat is also used for room heating and domestic water heating.
Our systems are tailored precisely to your needs and are used in a host of applications in almost every sector of industry and business. We place a strong emphasis on supply reliability and energy efficiency.
Drinks, food and feedstuff
Steam and hot water - and of course electricity, for powering the equipment - play a crucial role in the food and beverage industries. They are essential in all key production processes including pasteurisation, sterilisation, washing, cooking and cleaning.
Pharmaceutical industry, chemicals and petrochemicals
In addition to electrical energy, large quantities of heat at high temperatures are also required in numerous process steps in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, for example distillation, rectification, extraction, absorption, synthesis and refining.
Paper, corrugated cardboard and printing
Owing to its high heat transmission capacity, saturated steam is typically used as a heat source for cooking, drying, smoothing, folding, bonding and printing paper. Electrical energy is used for driving a wide variety of machines.
Steam is also needed for manufacturing moulded bricks. Here steam is used for mixing, pressing and pressurising raw materials in large pressure vessels (autoclaves). These materials harden at high pressures and temperatures to form the finished bricks.
Laundries and dry cleaners
In this sector, process heat is used primarily for heating washing water and for subsequent tasks such as pressing, mangling, ironing and finishing the laundry.
…and many other sectors, industries and businesses.
Today electricity and heat are important production factors in business and industry. Through our numerous customers in a wide range of industries we have acquired extensive process expertise over the decades, making us a strong partner for you.
